Dateline: nation, city and cinema. Cinema and City are
twins of the 20th century nation-state. A comprehensive
dateline of making of the nation, building of the
metropolis of Bombay and evolution of cinema as a public
space culture will be prepared, which in turn will create
the baseline for the various productions under this
project. Maps: the ‘lived city’ is formed by the spaces of
everyday life, of exchanges, of interactions and of
productions and the ‘city of desire’ exists in
representations distorted through multiple lenses. This is
the city as it is imagined. The locations of these cities
within the city will be represented through a new series
of maps.
